How to Go Out to Eat and Stay on Track With Your Health Goals

Do you work a very busy job that involves lots of wining and dining with the coworkers and customers? Many of my clients feel like dining out makes it super difficult to stay on track with their health goals. It doesn’t have to be that way!
Here’s a few helpful tips to help you plan ahead for those nights out, so you don’t sabotage all your healthy eating efforts:

  • Similar to grocery shopping, don’t go out to eat feeling too hungry. Have something lite before heading to the restaurant. It may be some Greek yogurt, a piece of fruit, or some nuts

  • Stay Hydrated. Have some water, tea, unsweetened ice tea, or seltzer before heading out.

  • Balance Your plate. Remember to include lean protein, fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

  • Leave the Clean Plate Club Mentality at the Door. Leftovers are our friend during busy work weeks. If you’re full, consider bringing the leftovers as tomorrow’s lunch or snack
